Men of Courage Podcast Launched on Friday, September 21st, Season One of the Men of Courage Podcast features host, Shawn H. Wilson interviewing NBA Legend Dave Bing, rapper, Big Sean, Civil Rights Icon, Andrew Young, New York Times Bestselling Author, Shaka Senghor, and more!
“During the first three years all of the dialogue happened in the forums.”
This podcast is important to help change how people look at black men.
‘It will help people to understand the complexity of black men and why black men have such an important role in this nation,” said Shawn H. Wilson of Men of Courage.
The movement and the message of Men of Courage is to encourage young black men and let them know that nothing is impossible to achieve if they put their mind to it.
“What separates the 60’s and now is that we had a cause. Men of Courage is a cause. Men of Courage represents a movement,” said Robert Warfield, Executive Director of the Bing Youth Institute.
Shaka Senghor was sent to prison at the age of 19 for second-degree murder. During his time in prison he used books to free his mind and expand his thinking. The disturbing truth is that most returning citizens fall victim to recidivism, but not Shaka. And, this brother is on personal a mission to change that stat for other black men.
“Shaka was always passionate about his story and once he picked up the momentum to move his passion forward he shot off. He is now a major proponent of prison reform,” said Roby Davis.
