This summer, Detroit Lions football players, Theo Riddick and Nevin Lawson dedicated their off season to giving back to Detroit area youth with a free football camp for local high school students.

Beyond athletic drills, Riddick and Lawson partnered with Men of Courage and Detroit PAL to host a life skills workshop providing exercises to sharpen offensive and defensive skills both on and off the field.

The cornerback and running back duo participated in a panel discussion, Q&A session, and training centered on self-esteem, goal setting and overcoming obstacles.

A reoccurring theme that came up with students throughout the day long event was that of self-doubt – a topic that the Detroit Police Officers and Detroit Lions Football Players eagerly addressed.

To drill home the necessity of conquering self doubt, Detroit Lions running back Theo Riddick took students through an affirming call-and-response session as reinforcement.

Check it out. This inspirational clip is all you need to silence your own internal cynic.
